Common Species of Texas:  P. palustris (Long-Leaved Pine), P. taeda (Loblolly Pine)

Pine trees grow densely in the eastern portions of the state. They produce large amounts of very buoyant and sizable pollen though they do not cause significant amounts of allergy. They produce pollen in male cones, typically during the early spring, which can be observed as a yellow, dusty film covering everything.
