Common Species of Texas: Broussonetia papyrifera (Paper Mulberry, Hedge Plant), Maclura pomifera (Osage Orange), Morus microphylla (Mountain of Texas Mulberry), Morus rubra (Red Mulberry)
Consisting of trees and shrubs commonly found in tropical regions, the mulberry family consists of Morus, Broussonetia and Maclura, all of which can be found in Texas. The mulberries bloom in the late spring from April to May and are considered moderately strong to severe allergens.
