Common Species of Texas: A. artemisiifolia (Short Ragweed), A. confertiflora (Slender Ragweed), A. psilostachya (Perennial, Western Ragweed), A. trifida (Giant Ragweed)
Ragweeds are notorious for producing large amounts of buoyant pollen which are considered the most important cause of pollinosis in North America. They are weeds, common to riverbanks and floodplains, which grow up to 12 feet tall. Ragweeds bloom from mid-July to September.
